SUNKISS ORGANICS

Need a skincare line that is truly clean and healthy for your skin? Try SunKiss Organics! My friend Jessica Jade, health coach and organic skin artisan, curated this amazing organic skincare line in her city of Harlem! Jessica empowers women of color to practice self-care and embrace their feminine health. SunKiss Organics is just an extension of her work as a health and wellness professional. Below are a few my favorite products from the collection.

REFRESH AND TONE

Aloe Rose Toner

You may have see me use whole aloe leaf in my Instagram stories internally for healthy digestion. However, I also love to use aloe based products topically to fight inflammation and for anti-aging properties. The Aloe Rose Toner is great to use after cleansing and prior to applying your moisturizer. Additionally, I keep it in my purse to refresh my skin throughout the day. The formula is very light so it’s safe enough to mist over your makeup and can even be used as a setting spray!

MOISTURIZE

Beau Oil

Although the Beau Oil is great for both skin and hair, I prefer to use it in my hair to seal and lock in moisturizer on wash day. After you apply your favorite leave-in conditioner, simply add a few drops to your palms and rake through your hair (especially on those ends!) to ensure moisture retention. You can also add few drops to your brush to tame flyaways, add shine, or polish your edges. You have the option of using tamanu oil, rosehip seed oil, or carrot seed oil as a base.

Floral Balm + Lemon Zest Body Balm

I love both of these balms because they are so long-lasting and the scent is perfect! The Floral Balm contains rose water (my favorite scent), which is great for toning the skin, improving acne, and reducing the appearance of dark spots.

The Lemon Zest Balm is ideal for brightening the skin as the Vitamin C in the lemon helps keep the skin more even-toned. Try giving your knees and elbows some special attention with this balm. Use these in place of your regular lotion.

As much as I enjoy some larger skincare brands, it’s important that we also show support to small, indie brands, especially within our local community. Do you have a favorite small beauty business? How can you support a small business this month?
